2000s

Early Digital Pioneer

In the mid-90s, Rick launched PreEnroll, the first-ever online registration platform for youth sports-quickly adopted by 30 YMCA chapters. His patented roster-balancing algorithm and game scheduling system laid the groundwork for modern sports tech. The company was later acquired by the nation’s largest marathon registration provider.

2010

Mobile Revolution

As mobile apps reshaped industries, Rick founded Groove Development, which became one of the Northwest’s top software firms. The team built dozens of apps, including the Nike 2016 Rio Olympics app, DOJOApp (the #1 martial arts school app), and the Massage Envy app used across hundreds of locations.

2017

StaffUp is Founded

After repeated requests from staffing agencies for private-labeled apps, Rick launched StaffUpApp, initially a mobile job board, which quickly evolved into a full operating system for staffing agencies. That same year, Rick met Bryan. What began as an integration partnership soon led to Bryan joining full-time as Head of Product.

2021

Platform Expansion

StaffUp introduced digital onboarding, in-app messaging, and timesheets giving agencies a centralized, mobile-first way to manage their workforce.

2022

Scheduling Launch

We rolled out our first scheduling system, tailored for dental, healthcare, light industrial, and hospitality staffing. It marked a major leap in operational control and client satisfaction.

2023–2024

Recruiter Console & Client Portal

To help agencies compete with gig platforms, we launched a modern recruiter console and client portal. Our second major scheduling iteration dramatically improved fill rates. We also partnered with Crisp to unify messaging into a single omni-channel inbox.

2025

Cracking the Code

We believe we’ve unlocked what staffing agencies truly need to thrive: faster worker payments, flexible scheduling, and branded tech that builds loyalty. StaffingOS is the result a platform built for agency ownership, client impact, and long-term relevance.
